You don’t have to be an executive to make decisions or solve problems; you do this all day, every day, even if you don’t notice it. The challenges are solving problems so they don’t reoccur and making decisions that lead to the results you need.
Many of us have a tendency to start trying to solve a problem before someone has even finished explaining the situation. We may find ourselves “solving” the same problem over and over again. Admitting to a poor decision is tough and taking corrective action can be even tougher.
These are serious challenges we need to overcome successfully and solve to be effective and efficient creating outcomes that are positive for the organization.
Adopt approaches that work and learn to:
- Solve problems and make effective decisions using simple, practical tools
- Assure better problem solving; uncover assumptions, constraints, and success factors
- Increase decision accuracy utilizing whole-brain thinking easily and consistently using your particular strengths
- Minimize poor decisions; neutralize the effects of stress, emotions, and distractions on decisions
- Make great decisions using conflict creatively.
In addition to an introduction to the basic tools of problem solving and decision making, you will receive references to increase your knowledge and skills.
