Description

Understand the available remedies when intellectual property is misused by or on behalf of the United States Government.
A companys intellectual property is one of its most important assets, and the exclusive rights that accompany intellectual property ownership can offer a competitive advantage in the commercial marketplace. The same competitive advantage may not be available in the United States Government marketplace. The United States Government can exercise certain powers visvis a companys intellectual property that may limit the companys otherwise exclusive rights and has extended certain immunities to its contractors to do the same on its behalf. This course will help intellectual property owners understand their available remedies when their intellectual property is misused by or on behalf of the United States Government. The program will also help United States Government contractors understand the scope of their immunity from traditional liability for patent infringement and copyright infringement.
